Chase's explosive knock of 60 runs off just 32 deliveries in the first T20I propelled him to 221 rating points, narrowing the gap between him and the format’s top-ranked all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, who leads with 252 points. West Indies all-rounder Roston Chase made a significant leap in the latest ICC T20I rankings, moving to a career-best second position among all-rounders following a blistering performance in the series opener against Australia, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the updated rankings on Wednesday.
Chase's explosive knock of 60 runs off just 32 deliveries in the first T20I propelled him to 221 rating points, narrowing the gap between him and the format’s top-ranked all-rounder, India’s Hardik Pandya, who leads with 252 points. The 32-year-old Barbadian is now within striking distance of claiming the No. 1 spot for the first time in his T20I career.
Australia’s emerging all-rounder Cameron Green also enjoyed a notable rise in the same category. His match-winning half-century in the same encounter against West Indies saw him surge eight places to reach the 28th position.
In the bowling department, Bangladesh's left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman made headlines with a dramatic jump of 17 places, entering the top 10 of the T20I Bowling Rankings. He now shares the ninth spot with India’s Arshdeep Singh, both tallying 653 rating points. Mustafizur’s rise was powered by an outstanding showing in Bangladesh’s historic T20I series win over Pakistan, where he claimed three wickets at a remarkable average of seven.
Fellow Bangladeshi spinner Mahedi Hasan also made significant gains, rising nine spots to reach 16th in the bowling rankings. His impactful spells, including a 2 for 25 performance in a narrow victory on Tuesday, have contributed to his upward movement.
New Zealand’s veteran pacer Matt Henry was another standout, climbing 13 positions to 29th following his six wickets in two matches during the ongoing Zimbabwe tri-series.
On the batting front, West Indies captain Shai Hope reached a personal milestone by breaking into the top 10 for the first time. He now sits at 10th with 670 rating points, following his fluent 55 off 39 balls against Australia. The innings not only anchored the West Indies innings but also highlighted Hope’s growing influence in the shortest format.
Australia’s Mitchell Marsh also experienced a modest gain, rising three spots to 23rd in the batting rankings. Marsh accumulated 592 rating points after contributing significantly with the bat in the same fixture.
