This was Messi's first practice session with the Spanish club since he led Argentina to the second position at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil recently.

The Argentine is not known to experiment with his looks, so the new hairdo comes as a surprise to most Messi fans and critics alike.

Some have compared the hairstyle to that of Cristiano Ronaldo, while others say it resembles the look of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
