Though Aakash Luthra is a tweaker and Vikas Singh bowls medium pace, the Rizvi Springfield duo have a lot in common. Besides being southpaws, their families have their roots in Uttar Pradesh. And if you don't find Vikas at his home, he will invariably be at Aakash's room at the Rizvi hostel.
No wonder Aakash and Vikas took four wickets apiece to help Rizvi thump Shardashram English by nine wickets and emerge supreme in the Mumbai leg of the Boost Cup Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament at the Police Gymkhana yesterday.
Incidentally, the duo had also starred in Rizvi's Harris Shield campaign earlier in the season, picking a fifer each in the semi-final.
"I am very happy and I love playing with Vikas. Whenever we bowl together, we always take three to four wickets each. We did the same in the Harris Shield semis and final. While in the semis, we got five wickets each, in the final, I got five and he got four," said Aakash, who was adjudged Man of the Match.
