Defending champions Don Bosco (Matunga) pulverised Guru Nanak (GTB Nagar) 7-0 in the quarter-finals of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) Ahmed Sailor League cum knockout U-16 inter-school hockey tournament at MHAL-Mahindra Stadium in Churchgate yesterday. Courtesy the win, Don Bosco will meet arch-rivals St Stanislaus (Bandra) in the semi-finals today.
Krish Jain opened the scoring for the Matunga team in the 12th minute with a brilliant shot which left the ’keeper dumbfounded. Eight minutes later, Benjamin Lobo scored a scrappy goal because of a confusion in the Guru Nanak shooting area. In the 23rd minute, Krish doubled the tally following a sweeping counter attack move.

In the second half, Ronaldo Gabriel made it four in the 33rd minute via a penalty corner. Joshva D’Souza got into the act six minutes later to make it 5-0.
Bosco weren’t done yet and got two more goals via Ronaldo and Priyansh Harjai to cap off a rampant display.
