Sochi: Organisers yesterday postponed the start of the men's biathlon mass start race by one day due to heavy fog, the first event of the Sochi Olympics to be delayed by a day.
Some alpine ski races and ski jumping events at Sochi have been postponed by a few hours but this is the first time an event has been put off for the next day.
The thick fog at the venue would have made the shooting portion of the event impossible to carry out.
