Hosts Bombay Gymkhana A lived up to their top seed status by defeating second seeds Chembur Gymkhana 2-0 in the Team Championship Elite Group final of the 22nd GD Birla Memorial Masters Inter-Club Badminton Tournament yesterday.
The home team took a 1-0 lead when Amol Shah and Mahesh Avas won their 100+ match 21-16, 21-7 against Pradeep Iyengar andPramod Divedi. Later in the 90+ match, Ayaz Billawala and Shailesh Daga defeated Anil Nair and PM Bala 21-18, 22-20 to seal Bombay Gym’s triumph.
