The proceeds of the match will go towards development of street children. Bayern is also expected to open a football academy for the street children.

Kaushik Mullick, the man behind this initiative, told MiD DAY yesterday: "They (Bayern) are coming here for a social cause. Former player Lothar Matthaus and other current stars from the team are expected."u00a0 Former Bayern legend Karl Heinz Rummenigge sent a message to the organisers saying: "Kolkata is a football-loving city which I have visited. I appreciate that my teammates are going to play for a very noble cause."
