"So much beautiful energy here tonight. I admire your commitment, your passion so much and I'm so grateful to be here. Thank you so much," she told the crowd toward the end of her set.

The "Can't Get You Out of My Head" performed to an audience of over 40,000 fans. The 46-year-old brought the curtains down on the games, and passed the baton over to her native Australia, which will host the next games on its Gold Coast when they return in 2018.

Minogue opened her performance with 2000 hit "Spinning Around", and also performed tracks including "Love at First Sight", "All the Lovers" and one of her very first singles, "The Locomotion".

In presence of British PM David Cameron, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex and vice patron of CWG Federation, declared the Glasgow 2014 closed as a representative of the head of the Commonwealth to mark the end.
