Italian police seized a pair of earrings from holidaying Argentina coach Diego Maradona, who owes 36 million euros to the Italian taxman, the Ansa news agency reported.
The value of the earrings was estimated at 4,000 euros. Maradona is currently staying at a spa in the town of Merano in north-eastern Italy. In 2006, while he was staying near Naples prior to a charity match, Italian authorities took two watches from Maradona reportedly worth 11,000 euros.
The previous year, the Supreme Court had ordered the former Napoli star to pay 36 million euros in unpaid taxes.
During his seven-year stay in Italy between 1984 and 1991, Maradona frequently failed to pay income tax.
According to the association of Italian taxpayers, Maradona still has 22.4 million euros to pay.
Maradona abruptly left Buenos Aires on Monday after four defeats in five matches left Argentina's hopes of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in the balance.
