Junior paddler Nishaad Shah stormed into the semi-finals of the men's singles and youth boys singles of the Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana Club (JVPGC) All Mumbai Ranking table tennis tournament yesterday.

In the men’s singles quarters, his victim was Ravindra Kotiyan, whom he beat 11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 15-13, 13-11.

In the youth boys quarters, top seeded Nishaad scored an equally impressive 11-7, 11-5, 12-10, 11-5 win over Bhuvitavya Shah.

Meanwhile, India No 8 Aman Balgu, the men’s top seed, was given a scare by Chandrashekhar Gole before Aman triumphed 11-6, 3-11, 11-8, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6.
