Battling terrible body ache and high fever, V Jeevan produced a resolute performance to upset third seeded Shrey Gupta of Haryana 6-3, 6-1 in the quarter-finals of the fourth Ramesh Desai Memorial National Tennis Championship at Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association yesterday.
After his win, Jeevan said, "I had fever and was uncomfortable playing against a top player. But I told myself that the result does not matter as long as I play my best tennis. I am happy with the win as it has given me a lot of confidence to do well."
