Maharashtra's Pooja Ghatkar won the gold medal in the 10M Air Rifle event yesterday at the Gun for Glory Shooting Championship.
Ghatkar shot 207.5 while Railways’ Ayonika Paul, who shot 205.9, came second with West Bengal’s Mampi Das finishing with the bronze medal.
Elsewhere, Maharashtra’s Shital Thorat also took home the gold medal in the 10M Air Pistol event. Thorat’s score of 196.7 was enough to help her pip Uttarakhand’s Prerna Gupta (195.5) in the race for the gold medal.
Ghatkar also combined with Anjali Bhagwat and Trisha Mukherjee to win the silver medal for Maharashtra in the 10M Air Rifle team event where the Railways team, comprising of Ayonika Paul, Radhika Barale and Suma Shirur, clinched gold.
