The defeat — Mumbai Magicians’ 10th in 11 outings this far, also ended their hopes of making it to the semi-finals of the five-team competition. Mumbai had to win to keep their challenge in the tournament alive. However, a first half goal by Luke Doerner sealed the tie in favour of the visiting UP Wizards.
