Lausanne (Switzerland): The International Olympic Committee said it would take up to a week to decide whether to ban Russia from the Rio Olympics over its "state" doping machine.
Amid agonising within the IOC over how to handle the doping scandal, the verdict could come less than 10 days from the Rio opening ceremony on August 5.
The IOC executive decided to wait until after a Court of Arbitration in Sport (CAS) ruling which is expected on Thursday.
