Hockey India (HI) confirmed Mariamma Koshy as its president yesterday. The decision was taken under Rule 4(f) of HI rules and regulations during its executive board meeting here

The 63-year-old Koshy was elected the vice-president of HI in Aug 2010 and held the interim president’s position from Nov 2010.
A former state-level centre-forward, Koshy is also Hockey Kerala’s senior vice-president. “The sport is poised at an exciting stage in India and it is a privilege to be working with colleagues who are committed to the cause of hockey,” said Koshy.
Treasurer of Hockey Karnataka Gayatri Shetty was confirmed as vice-president of HI.
