It was double delight but with a hint of anxiety for Don Bosco (Matunga) as both their teams, 'A' and 'B', pulled off one-sided victories without conceding a goal in the quarter-finals of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) boys U-14 St Andrew's Challenge Shield inter-school hockey league at St Stanislaus Ground, Bandra yesterday. However, the sad part is that the two teams will clash against each other in the semi-finals tomorrow.

Big wins
Yesterday, Don Bosco (Matunga) 'A' beat Don Bosco (Borivli) 5-0 with a hat-trick from Krish Jain (16th, 36th, 46th minutes) and a brace by Nihal Dudwadkar (32nd, 40th minutes). The 'B' team then thumped St Anne's (Orlem) 11-0 thanks to a flood of goals from Shyam Redekar (5th, 12th, 21st, 38th minutes) and two from Harsh More (9th, 48th minutes).
Coach Javed Sayed was a satisfied man on the day. "Both our teams played well. I felt the 'B' team converted most of their chances, while the 'A' team missed a number of scoring opportunities else even that margin of victory would have been higher," he said.
Speaking about the last-four clash, Sayed admitted it was unfortunate but stressed that his loyalties were equally divided. "Though the 'A' team start as favourites, I believe it will be a tough contest given the way the "B' team is gelling together. I don't think the 'A' team can afford to take their friends in the 'B' team lightly.
Both teams train together, so all the boys know each others' game very well. Ideally, I would have liked both the teams to meet in the final, but unfortunately, we have to play by this draw," added Sayed.
