Phil Mickelson went to the turn in a sparkling five under par 31 at the Players Championship yesterday to reignite his bid to become World No 1 at long, long last.
Fourth-ranked Mickelson will overtake Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer and Luke Donald by capturing golf's richest event for a second time in five years and he was right in the thick of things midway through his second round.
