Mumbai's Aryan Goveas bagged a double crown, winning the boys U-16 singles and doubles titles in the S R Khan Memorial AITA Championship Series tennis tournament, which concluded at the TopSpin Tennis Academy in J P Nagar, Bangalore last week

Aryan, who finished runner-up in the recently concluded boys under-14 Nationals held at Chennai, scored an upset victory over Bangalore’s BR Nikshep, the top seed and boys under-14 No 1 ranked player in the country, winning 6-3, 6-2.

Earlier on Friday, Aryan, a student of Vibgyor High paired up with Mumbai’s Kunal Vazirani, a student of Don Bosco, Matunga and his training partner at the Tennis Excellence Academy to defeat AP’s C Tarun Anirudh and P C Anirudh 6-3, 6-1 and lift the under-16 doubles crown.
