Mumbai's 18-year-old Shubham Vanmali became the youngest swimmer in the world to cross the English Channel in this year.

Shubham took 12.42 hours to complete the swim from Dover in England and reached Calais on the French coast.
This swim is particularly difficult to conquer owing to the biting cold, unpredictable weather conditions and a constantly changing tidal pattern.
