Mumbai won the under-17 Maharashtra Inter-District football tournament defeating host Akola 3-2 via the tie-breaker.
Mumbai, coached by John Alphonso, defeated Nanded, Kolhapur, Nagpur and Thane to reach the final. In a tough clash against Akola, Mumbai proved to be the better side as they held their nerve in the tie-breaker.
