Rizvi Springfield school (Bandra) and their coach Raju Pathak were given a clean chit by the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) a few days after they were found guilty of fielding an overage player in the Harris Shield boys U-16 inter-school cricket tournament.

The 121-year-old school body had earlier banned Rizvi school for one year while the coach was suspended for the remainder of the current season. The overaged player in question was given a two-year ban.

Yesterday, in a media release sent by MSSA, the school's ban and coach's punishment were revoked. Also, the player's ban has been reduced to one year. The Harris Shield semi-final to be played between Rizvi and Don Bosco (Matunga) would take place next month along with the Giles Shield boys U-14 semi-final.
