Defending champ Rashpal Singh, of Army Sports Institute and last year's runner-up Pankaj Dhaka of JSW will lead the field of Indian elite men in the Indiabulls Home Loans Vasai-Virar Mayors Marathon on Sunday. More than 18000 participants have registered in which there are 740 full marathoners; 4000 half and more than 2000 11km runners.
The other 12000 participants will be seen in the junior age group of 1.5km, 3km, 5km, 7km and 11km and the Dhamal Dhaav over 4kms. The winner of the full marathon for men will get R2.50 lakh, while the male and female winners of the half marathon will bag R1.25 lakh each.
