Maria Sharapova is all set to return to competitive tennis soon as her doping ban nears its end, and here’s how she’s keeping her body fit for that big comeback. Sharapova explains that besides playing tennis for three hours a day, five or six days a week, it’s the off-court workouts and balanced diet that are equally important.

“Our bodies get used to something when we do it consistently, so I think the biggest gift that I can give to my body is always making it guess,” Sharapova (29), tells People magazine in Los Angeles recently.
“It’s really about mixing it up and doing different things. I love doing core (workout with a physioball) I love Pilates and stretching,” she says adding that giving the body an off day to rest is equally important too.
About her diet, she says: “It’s about making the right choices for your body, but I also think indulging is a part of it. If you’re constantly resisting and saying ‘no,’ that becomes a challenge. I try to keep it 80/20, where 80 percent you’re eating healthy and 20 percent giving yourself a chance to relax and have a piece of bread and a cookie!”
