Sania Mirza crashes out in France

Sania Mirza faltered in her run up to the French Open, suffering first round defeats in both singles and doubles events of a WTA tournament here.

In the singles, Sania fought hard for two hours and four minutes but lost 4-6, 6-4, 1-6 to French wild card Alize Cornet.

In the doubles, top seeded Sania and Czech partner Lucie Hradecka, lost a tight first round match 7-5, 2-6, 10-12 to Germany's Angelique Kerber and Katarzyna Piter of Poland.
