Indian pugilist L Sarita Devi (60kg) inched closer to qualifying for London Olympics, after she stunned defending champion and World No 2 Gulsum Tatar of Turkey to enter the pre-quarterfinals of the World Women's Boxing Championships in Qinhuangdao, China yesterday.
Sarita Devi beat Tatar 14-13 as she vies for the two Olympic slots available for India in the 60kg weight category. Devi, who recently switched to lightweight 60kg will face England’s Natasha Jonas, who beat Switzerland’s Sandra Bruegger 23-11.u00a0
