Tennis ace Maria Sharapova’s reduced doping suspension is all set to boost her bank balance thanks to her sponsors returning for good
Many of Sharapova’s sponsors had distanced themselves from her after the International Tennis Federation banned her for two years following her revelation in March that she had failed a dope test at the Australian Open.
However, following her appeal, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced her two-year ban by nine months on Tuesday, ensuring she will return to court in April.
Consequently, Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer, and Porsche, a division of German car maker Volkswagen, who had severed ties with Sharapova, have now returned to support her.
