Over 10,000 from 50 city school participated in the run

Terry Fox Run organisers expect to raise Rs 6 crore

A participant in a joyful mood during the Terry Fox Run held in the city yesterday

The 17th edition of the Terry Fox Run witnessed 10,000 children from about 50 schools taking part in the event that started at Nariman Point (Air India Building) and ending at Brabourne Stadium (CCI) yesterday.

Terry Fox India, Convener Gul Kripalani said: "Last year we raised over Rs 2 crore and this year we expect to raise about Rs 6 crore for this cause. All the funds collected are donated to Tata Memorial Hospital to carry out research in cancer among children."


The run is a non-competitive event, where school students and individuals participate and raise money in Terry Fox's name.
