The 23-year-old student competed in the Greco-Roman 84kg division and lost on Monday in the quarter-finals.
"The athlete has been disqualified from these Games and his performance has been nullified," said Dr. Mani Jegathesan, chairman of the Olympic Council of Asia's medical committee.
The Games, which began on November 12, has seen one previous drugs scandal, also involving an athlete from Uzbekistan who was also named Muminov, although they are not believed to be related.
Judoka Shokir Muminov won a silver medal but had it taken away and was thrown out of the multi-sport extravaganza after testing positive for methylhexaneamine, a stimulant used widely as a nasal decongestant.
It was the same drug involved in Wednesday's case.
"We've instructed the relevant National Olympic Committee to try to investigate and find the source of this substance to prevent similar occurrences in the future," said Jegathesan.
Currently, a positive test for methylhexaneamine carries a two-year ban but the substance will be re-classified from January. From then, there will be more room for leniency with punishment ranging from a warning to a two-year sanction.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that South African rugby internationals Chiliboy Ralepelle and Bjorn Basson had returned positive test samples for the same substance following their 23-21 win over Ireland in Dublin on November 6.
On the eve of the Asiad, the China Anti-Doping Agency said it planned to test 1,500 urine samples and more than 200 blood samples.
All ware being sent to the agency's world-class lab in Beijing, which conducted drug screenings for the 2008 Summer Olympics.
At the 2006 Asia Games in Doha, four weightlifters were kicked out for flouting drugs rules, including Uzbekistan's Elmira Ramileva and teammate Alexander Urinov.
