Beijing Olympics bronze medallist Vijender Singh (75kg) eased through into the quarter-finals with an astounding 11-5 victory against Ishak Waez of Syria in the Asian Boxing Qualifiers in Astana, Kazakhstan yesterday.
Vijender is just a win away from securing an Olympic berth. The 26-year-old will lock horns with 2011 Asian Championship silver medallist Chuluuntumur Tumurkhyag of Mongolia on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Asian Games silver medallist Manpreet Singh (91kg) started his campaign with a knockout performance as he took just a minute and 46 seconds to win his bout against Yerbolat Tulyek of Mongolia to enter the quarter-finals.
The 23-year-old Indian will now meet Borbashev Chingis of Kyrgyzstan in the quarter-finals on Sunday.u00a0
