Top seed Caroline Wozniacki advanced to the semi-finals of the WTA Indian Wells tournament after Victoria Azarenka retired early in the first set with a leg injury yesterday

Denmark's, Wozniacki was ahead 3-0 when Azarenka packed it in after taking a 14-minute medical timeout to receive treatment for an injury to her left leg. She injured the leg just 10 minutes into the match while stretching to return a shot.



Wozniacki will face the winner of the quarter-final matchu00a0 between Russian Maria Sharapova and China's Peng Shuai.
