Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt got engaged on Sunday at a private ceremony to Sheetal, who is the daughter of local Haryana politician Jai Bhagwan Sharma.


Sheetal, who is a BA student and wrestler Yogeshwar will tie the knot in Delhi on January 16 in 2017. The ring ceremony on Sunday was attended by close family members and several political leaders.



According to media reports, chairman of the Indian Wrestling Foundation Brij Bhushan Sharan was also present at the occasion along with AAP Haryana state chief Naveen Jaihind as was his wife and DCW chief Swati Maliwal.

Yogeshwar won the bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics in the 60 kg category, which was recently upgraded to silver in August 2016 due to the original silver medal winner, Besik Kudukhov, testing positive for dope.
