Vera Zvonareva will face World No 1 Caroline Wozniacki in the semi-finals of the WTA Championships after beating Kim Clijsters in Doha yesterday.

Belgium's Kim Clijsters returns to Russia's Vera Zvonareva yesterday.

Zvonareva finished top of her group with three wins from three matches after beating US Open champion Clijsters 6-4, 7-5.

Both players had already secured their place in the last four, with today's match taking on the air of an exhibition at times with a total of 10 breaks of serve. Clijsters was twice a break up in the opening set and also led 3-1 in the second, but Zvonareva eventually prevailed in an hour and 24 minutes. "It's been an amazing week for me so far, to play three tough matches and be able to win those," Zvonareva said.
