Spending time with family and friends is one of the most fun parts of Diwali. But if you can’t, the festive season can still be enjoyable. We suggest ways to make the most of Diwali by yourself.

Go Cycling at Sanjay Gandhi National Park

Reach Sanjay Gandhi National Park early in the morning and rent a cycle. You could spend your time cycling around and exploring the national park, while basking yourself in the sunlight and enjoying the bird calls, the picturesque flora and fauna.

Visit the Ajanta Ellora Caves

Spend your time exploring the thirty-four historic caves of Ajanta and Ellora known for their intricate sculptures and frescoes, and get the chance to witness the Kailasa Temple at Ellora, a monumental temple that is rock-cut from a single stone, and dedicated to Lord Shiva. If you are someone who loves to explore new sites and know about history, this outing is perfect for you!

Camp by the beach in Alibaug

The weather around Diwali is perfect to hop on a ferry to Alibaug, and have a nice time camping by the clean beaches. You could also take some friends with you, or build rapport with strangers while you camp together. Adventurous people definitely need to experience the serenity that comes with the travel and the beachside stay.

Every Thursday, Mumbai Gallery Association organises Art Night Thursday, which lets people join free of cost and visit art galleries that allow attendees to pre-view some work that is about to be exhibited, along with ongoing exhibitions in the city. If you are a lover of art and like to view exhibitions, you should definitely attend.

Go Trekking around Mumbai

There are many beginner-level treks that an adventurous person could go on around Mumbai. Most of them are in the mountains near Karjat, such as the Bhivgad Trek or the Sondai Fort trek. Trekking and enjoying the waterfalls in the mountains could be one of the most thrilling getaways. There are so many things that you could do in and around the city in case you are alone this Diwali. Remember to have the best time with yourself instead of sulking and make the most of your holiday, especially if you are away from home.
