Love in the rain

Saawan Barse Dil Tarse” is a Hindi-language podcast that delves into romantic narratives set against the nostalgic backdrop of the monsoon season. Produced by Audio Pitara and Channel176 Productions and available on Spotify, the series comprises 20 episodes, each offering a unique tale of love, longing, and serendipity. The stories, penned by Ajinkya Marchande, are brought to life by narrators Amit Deondi, Shambhavi Pandey, Disha Sharma, and Riya Sharma, whose performances add depth and emotion to the narratives.

Listeners are transported to diverse settings — from the bustling streets of Delhi to the serene landscapes of Kashmir — where characters experience transformative moments of connection. Episodes like “Heaven” depict a fleeting yet profound bond between a tourist guide and a traveler, while “Kashmir ki Preet” explores an unexpected meeting that blossoms into love amidst the rain.

For those inclined towards romantic narratives enriched with cultural and emotional depth, “Saawan Barse Dil Tarse” offers a poignant auditory experience.

On a rainy track

Trains and rains don’t exactly go together, at least in Mumbai where waterlogged tracks and leaking carriages are de rigueur.

But once you get out of the city and onto the Konkan Railway route, it’s a different story — one of gorgeous views, lush greenery, rolling hills and rushing rivers, not to mention the odd waterfall.

The Rail Enthusiasts’ Society has an online exhibit ‘Trains in the Monsoon’ on Google Arts and Culture,  complete with information about the route and the area, and a handy map link too.

We suggest you watch it on as big a computer screen as you can find. Sink into the freshness that monsoon is supposed to bring, and forget the city muck. Or, you can put the beautiful images to good use in planning your own Konkan expedition.

From muddy puddles and paper boats to lessons on kindness, friendship and problem-solving, PunToon Kids captures the charm of classic Indian storytelling with a fresh twist. The characters wear traditional outfits, the animation style is warm and simple, and the themes are rooted in everyday Indian life — just like the cartoons you grew up with. It’s wholesome, it’s nostalgic, and most importantly, it keeps your child meaningfully engaged. Perfect for screen time you won’t feel guilty about. So, grab a cosy blanket, and stream PunToon Kids this monsoon.

Some loving for your phone

Some loving for your phone

Have you bought a phone on EMI but not covered it during the monsoon? Well, why? Surely you haven’t forgotten the heart-stopping feeling of your phone falling into a puddle? Or the frustration of not being able to take that call because your phone would get wet? This is why we are stanning this waterproof cover for our mobile from Sharbani. It’s transparent and gives access to the phone’s microphone, speaker, camera, and volume and power buttons. Best of all, it’s a manageable price point of Rs 173. Plus, it comes with a lanyard so we can hang it round our necks and be free to grab the overhead bars in the bus or train.
