My temper cost me my best friend

My best friend and I had a falling out a few months ago because the person I was in love with turned out to have had a crush on him a few years ago. She said she no longer liked him, but I was angry and said a few things to him when we went out for a drink. I regret what I said because I was just being childish, but he took it to heart and believes I will abandon him the minute I get into a relationship. I couldn’t even date that girl because she was shocked at my behaviour. I have lost my love as well as my friend because I couldn’t control my temper. I have been trying to find a way to reach out to him and tell him how I feel, but I can’t think of what to say. What should I do?
Try focusing less on what you have to say and more on what you have lost. Self-awareness is critical if you have to arrive at a place of understanding and reconciliation. Your friend may need time and space to process how things have changed, and it may help you both to take time off and evaluate the hurt that has been caused. Reach out to the person you love too, after a while, to try and explain how you feel about the way you behaved. They may both continue to stay away from you, because that is their prerogative, but time may allow all three of you to look at this from a different perspective.

Is it okay for me to date two women if I am open and honest about why I can’t commit to just one of them? My friends say I am asking for trouble, but the women seem okay with this for now.
