At the same time, I am confused because these feelings may simply be a result if my being in an unhappy relationship

I am a 28-year old woman and was in a relationship with a guy for two years before he moved to another city. We ended it because I couldn’t manage doing it long distance. We lost touch after a while, and I moved on. A year ago, I began dating someone else, but that relationship has been unsteady and difficult. We don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things and have many arguments that almost end up with us calling this off. We are still together, but I don’t know if there is a future in this anymore. I recently found out that my ex-boyfriend has moved back to my city, and I have been thinking about him a lot. I don’t know if I have managed to get over him even though it has been a while. At the same time, I am confused because these feelings may simply be a result if my being in an unhappy relationship. Is reaching out to my ex a bad idea?
It makes more sense to take some time out from your current relationship to focus on yourself. Give yourself time and space to breathe and think about what your needs and expectations are. Don’t focus on your current boyfriend or your ex, because this has everything to do with how you are feeling, more than the circumstances you’re in. If your current relationship isn’t working, end it, and take some time before jumping into another one. You can always reach out to your ex for a chat or coffee, just to get a sense of how you feel about him. You don’t even know if he’s still single, so why go by assumptions?
My boyfriend constantly worries about me leaving him, which was cute at the start but just leads to anxiety now. He doesn’t even let me go on office trips because he’s always panicking. What should I do?
Tell him that being possessive and not trusting you is a sign that things are going wrong.
