Skoda revealed the new 2017 Octavia last month in October. This new Octavia came with a surprising change in the form of split headlamps, which gave it a rather distinct look. Other than the front end, the exterior look remains almost identical to the current model. Now, Skoda has unveiled the interiors of the car and has detailed the new features which the car will get. Although there are not a lot of cosmetic changes inside the car, it's safe to say that Skoda has gone out of its way to load this vehicle with features.

The 2017 Skoda Octavia will be launched by the end of this year in international markets and deliveries will begin next year. In India, this model is expected to be launched later in 2017. Expect a slight price bump from the current price for the 2017 model. Before we get into the details of these features, have a look at the highlights of the interiors.

Skoda, being 'Simply Clever,' has added quite a few impressive touches to the insides of the car. These clever changes include equipment, technology and design. For starters, the top-of-the-line 'Columbus' infotainment cum navigation system features a 9.2-inch 1,280×640 pixel display on the dashboard. This stunning display has the added advantage of an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot and an LTE module. These provides a high-speed Internet connection with download speeds of up to 150Mbps, and also supports MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

On the other hand, the Bolero sound system, which comes as standard in the Laurin & Klement variant has a high-resolution 8.0-inch touch-screen with proximity sensors. These sensors recognise when a finger approaches and activates swiping, scrolling and character input.
Another interesting input in the 2017 Skoda Octavia is the customizable key. The car comes with three customizable keys which can be programmed to an individual user. As soon as one driver unlocks the vehicle, their personal settings like the driving profile selection, assistance systems, indoor and outdoor lighting, climate control, infotainment systems and electrically adjustable seats are initiated.

Apart from these major inputs, things like a heated steering wheel, decorative light guide-strips in the doors with ten different ambient lighting modes, interlocking bottle holders, front under-seat umbrella, SOS button and the removable LED flashlight in the boot make this a thoroughly well-thought out car.
Also present in the car is the new Skoda Phonebox. This phone supports wireless charging and also connects your phone to the roof antenna, which enables you to have a stronger signal connection. The Canton sound system is linked to eight speakers, including the centre speaker on the dashboard and subwoofer in the boot.

The 2017 Skoda Octavia has a lot of features borrowed from cars which are one or even a couple of segments above it. This makes the Octavia a pretty well-rounded package. We will have to wait until late 2017 to find out which of these features make it to the Indian market, but with such a long list, this will surely be an impressive car.
