A one-year-old girl and her mother were among the eight who got injured last night when a Mercedes driven by a 22-year-old woman hit them at Kondhwa.

Scared of getting beaten up by the mob, Aditi Ranjit Jagtap, a daughter of a renowned city cardiologist and a resident of Wanawadi, damaged a dozen other vehicles while driving into a no-entry zone.
Aditi was later booked for rash and negligent driving by Kondhwa police. Aditi also got injured in the incident and was immediately shifted to a private hospital for treatment.u00a0
Before that an irate mob smashed the windows of her car after she was intercepted by Sub-Inspector Sunil Waydande and two constables deputed at the Fakri Chowk.
Prasad Hasabnis, Police Inspector from the Kondhwa police station, said, "Aditi is a third year student of an Interior Design course at an institute in Karve Nagar."
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IV) Sanjay Jadhav said, "Aditi was going to her friend's house in Kondhwa when she hit a woman near the ABC Farms shop. She was scared that the mob would beat her up and thus she tried to flee from the spot."
Havoc wreaked
"In an attempt to run away, Aditi's rash driving caused more havoc as she drove into the no-entry zones and damaged over a dozen vehicles and injured eight people," DCP Jadhav said. "We are yet to identify the baby girl and her mother besides others who were hit by Aditi's car.
No casualties were reported," Jadhav added. Advocate Mohammad Azharuddin (40), whose car was also hit by Aditi's car, said, "The lady was driving horriblyu00a0 in the no-entry zone and hit my car at the Fakri Chowk which has resulted in huge damage."
