Mumbai: A 30-year-old man was seriously injured after he came in contact with a high-voltage electric wire while travelling on the rooftop of a suburban train, police said today.

The injured, Umesh Yadav, was immediately rushed to civic-run Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar (E) where he is in an unconscious state, they said.

The incident occurred yesterday at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus station. The commuter was travelling on the rooftop of a local train during morning rush hours when he inadvertently touched a high-voltage overhead electric wire, police said.

Yadav, a resident of Santacruz in the western suburbs, is presently unconscious and hence his statement has not been recorded yet, they added.
