Victim says cops are turning a blind eye to her plight; no FIR lodged yet
Sixty-year-old Krishna Devi Guliya has been running form pillar to post to get an FIR registered against her 25-year-old son who, she alleges, has been beating her up regularly over property issue.

A widow, Krishna Devi lives with her sons Anil, Sandeep and his wife Kiran in Chirag Dilli area of south Delhi. She alleged that her third son Kuldeep, who owns a gym in the area, wanted to kill her and her family and grab their share of the property too even though a large portion of their house has been given to him as his share after her husband's death.
"On Saturday, Kiran, Sandeep and I were talking when all of a sudden Kuldeep came there along with his wife and two other people and threw a drilling machine at me that hit me on my knee. On this, Sandeep and Kiran rushed to my help but were thrashed by Kuldeep and his goons. They then hit me with a hammer on my knee. Sandeep was dragged out of the room and beaten up with a cudgel. Kuldeep also hit Kiran on her head with some heavy object after which she fainted. He then threatened me of dire consequence and ran away," said Krishna Devi.u00a0u00a0u00a0
They then called the police. A PCR van rea ched the spot and rushed them to AIIMS Trauma Centre. Kiran and Sandeep had suffered head injuries while Krishna Devi was injured in the leg. "The police came and took our statements, assuring us that they will take action against Kuldeep. But nothing has been done so far. I have met DCP (south) HGS Dhaliwal and even Commissioner of Police but no one is coming forward to help us," said she.
This was not the first time that Krishan Devi was attacked by her son. She said that in recent past Kuldeep had stabbed her on her arms brutally. She had called the police even then but Kuldeep had pleaded with her not to file any case. "I was foolish enough to give into his pleading. I did not know that this time he will attack my family with the help of hired goons," said she.
In a complaint sent to DCP (south), she has alleged that local police was also threatening them. "One Hemant, a cop often comes to our house and warns us that they are sheltering Kuldeep and no action will be taken against him," she said.
The Other Side
Speaking with MiD DAY, Kuldeep said that his mother and elder brothers were stealing electricity from his portion of the house and when he had objected to that, he was beaten up. "Actually, I am their victim. They are stealing electricity from my portion of the house and this had even caused miscarriage of my wife Anjali. I did not beat them up," said Kuldeep. When asked where his wife was undergoing treatment, he refused to reveal it. He even denied that he had ever stabbed his mother and said that she was cooking up stories against him. "She was injured due to bangles she was wearing, I did not stab her," he said.
Meanwhile, the police said they will take action in the matter. "We will lodge an FIR after going through the MLC report," said a police official.
