New Delhi: A total of 78 railway players and coaches have been selected to represent India in the Asian Games to be held in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 to October 4.
Railway sportspersons as part of Indian contingent will participate in the disciplines of athletics, cycling, hockey, volleyball, swimming, handball, basketball, shooting, weightlifting, gymnastics, wrestling and archery, a release said.

Earlier this year, railway players were a part of the Indian contingent at the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow in Scotland from July 21 to August 3. They had brought laurels to the country by bagging many medals.
Out of total 64 medals won by India in Glasgow, railway players bagged nine. The performance of railway weightlifters and wrestlers in particular has been remarkable.
They have contributed two gold, four silver and three bronze medals, the release said.
In addition, four railway sprotspersons received the Arjuna Award-2014 from the President of India at a special function at Rashtrapati Bhavan last month.
