Mumbai's readers can cheer as a new destination for art and design books opens shop, within another bookstore
On July 1 this year, CMYK opened a bookstore within the Kemps Corner outlet of the bookstore chain, Crossword. In this unique experiment, the Roli Books-run enterprise offers art and design books. “The bookstore had undergone a revamp and renovation recently. It’s when we thought, why not collaborate to enhance the experience of customers interested in these books?” reveals Kapil Kapoor, Managing Director, Roli Books.

From this germ of an idea, the CMYK art and design bookstore was set on the first floor (opposite Moshe café). Kapoor tells us that, so far, it’s been a good beginning. Look around, and the collection is a godsend for readers of architecture, art, interior design, fashion, photography, graphic design as well as gastronomy.
The first CMYK Bookstore was set up in Delhi 2009. Over the last six years, outlets have opened in Chennai, Mumbai, and very soon, in Jaipur. “Our strategy to expand has been a combination of setting up our own stand alone boutiques like in Delhi and three in Jaipur, and shop in shops with like minded people.
In Chennai, we are within the famous Amethyst bungalow store, in Mumbai our first store was with GoodEarth, which has been a phenomenal success, and the most recent, has been the tie-up with Crossword at Kemps Corner,” adds Kapoor. For Mumbai's booklovers, this is a boon.
