Buzz is that Aamir Khan rejected a film that is to be based on Verghese Kurien, India's favourite milkman

Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia along with Ekta Kapoor is collaborating for a biopic on Verghese Kurien, the country's favourite milkman. Apparently, buzz is that when approached for the film, Aamir Khan turned down the offer.

With the pre-release buzz around Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster, someone mentioned about Tigmanshu Dhulia having a couple of novel stories, that would suit the profile of Alt," says our source about the producer and the director teaming up.

Further, he adds that Ekta was intrigued by the idea of a biopic on Kurien, who made India the largest milk producer in the world.

Not surprisingly, the producer and the director were keen to rope in an actor who could transform himself into the character. "Interestingly, they both felt that Aamir would not only deliver but also take the idea to a different level," says our source. However, it seems as if Mr Perfectionist wasn't too sure about it.

"Besides, he's also preoccupied with his television show, Satyameva Jayate and films like Talaash and Dhoom 3. And not to forget, biopics aren't working for him yet, as the one on Guru Dutt. So he declined the idea," reveals our source.

On being contacted, Tigmanshu confirmed that he's working on the film. "It's not my next film, but it will be made. I am doing research on Verghese Kurien and working on the script," is all he was willing to comment.

However, with Aamir rejecting the film, it remains to be seen which actor will step into the shoes of a US-trained metallurgical engineer who pioneered Operation Flood, the largest dairy development program in the world.
