Abhi's tube talk

The Bachchan khandan is probably the only Indian family that doesn't fight over the television remote. And that's because there's a consensus between them on what to watch.

"Fortunately, we all like watching the same shows, so it's quite peaceful at home. And when Ash doesn't want to watch football, I just record the match and let her watch whatever she wants to," explains Abhishek Bachchan. The actor who's awaiting his nextu00a0 release talks to CS about what he likes watching on the idiot box.

Show time
Television has always been an educational tool for me. I grew up watching cartoons, art and culture shows on DD. I was also exposed to French TV since I studied in Switzerland. In our childhood, we didn't have channels like National Geographic etc, but kids today are lucky to have such options.

When I'm not shooting, I turn on the news or sports. I'm a big football fan and end up recording the matches that I miss. These days I'm hooked on to cricket. When I'm not cheering for India from the stands, I'm rooting for them from my living room. I've already bought two tickets for the finals. I can't wait to see India win. I'm very sure we'll do it.

A new dimension
The 3D experience really enhances television viewing. Avatar took us by storm. Till sometime back, a filmmaker and I were toying with the idea of making a 3D film, but that didn't work out. I would love to star in such a film.
Attending the Oscars was great fun. Yes, it's true that Ashwariya and I have invited Colin Firth (actor) to India, but I wouldn't want to comment on this. If he came down, it would only be in a personal capacity.
