Delhi Police Headquarters to have a new media centre for visiting journalists during the C'wealth Games
The Capital's sporting infrastructure may not yet be ready for the Commonwealth Games, but the city's police force is gearing up to meet the challenge.

It has already got the green signal to construct a new state-of-the-art media centre to help visiting journalists.
In a month or two, the Delhi Police Headquarters will have a new world-class media room with LCD screens and recording facilities.
Senior police officials said that the move was one of the many taken by the police ahead of the Commonwealth Games, when many foreign journalists will visit the Capital.
"The proposal for the new, hi-tech media centre has been accepted. We are in the process of finalising the details," said Rajan Bhagat, Delhi Police public relations officer.
According to senior police officials, the media centre will be located on the first floor of the headquarter building.
"The media room will be constructed in such a way that police officials can brief all journalists from the room itself.
We will also have computers with Internet facilities for journalists to file their reports. We are working out the facility for video conferencing too," said a senior police official, wishing anonymity.
The official added that they will be maintaining a list of all the foreign journalists who will be interacting with the police regularly during the Games. The centre will be able to sit over 50 people.
