Ambulance services standing by

Pune traffic police, with help of NGOs, has arranged ambulance services and other medical emergency facilities at 12 different locations in the city for the Ganesh visarjan procession on Wednesday and Thursday

The locations are Hirabaug chowk, SP College, Sahitya Parishad chowk, NMV High School, Faraskhana police station, Narayan Peth police chowky, Khadak police station, Gadikhana chowk, Shanipar, Sonya Maruti chowk, Kasba Peth police chowky and Nagnathpar.

An expert doctor, nursing staff, activists of Action For Pune Development and Rotary Club will accompany every ambulance at these places.


The vehicles -- provided by Columbus and Sai Ambulance service -- will have facilities like first-aid, saline, oxygen cylinders, etc, said deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Vishwas Pandhare.

Poona hospital, Jehangir hospital, Siddharth hospital, Ruby hospital and Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital would also be providing their ambulance services in emergency situations, said Pandhare.
