The marriage may well be in March but the honeymoon has already begun for Amrita Arora. Following a romantic New Year's at a friend's villa in Dubai with fiancu00e9 Shakeel Ladak, the two brought in Amu's birthday in Bangkok last night stargazing over dinner.
Says a source close to Amrita, "Last year, Amrita had a well-attended b'day bash. This time Shakeel and Amu decided to spend it alone. Shakeel called Amrita up on Thursday and told her to come to the airport. A bemused Amu landed up there to find that Shakeel had planned a surprise holiday for her as part of her birthday gift.
Shakeel had reserved two tickets to Bangkok and a three-day stay at the St Moritz Hotel in Bangkok."
The holiday was special for Amrita as she hasn't been to Bangkok. "Amu was in Bangkok only for a night when she was shooting for Golmaal Returns en route to Pattaya. It was Shakeel's idea to celebrate Amu's birthday in Bangkok. This time, Amrita had all the time in the world and both wanted a different way of bringing in her birthday u2013 a romantic rendezvous rather than a family-and-friends affair. Shakeel has taken her shopping and has bought her loads of clothes, jewellery, shoes and bags. They shopped at some of the most expensive malls in Bangkok like the Emporio, Siam Paragon, Central World and MBK."
The source adds, "Last night, they brought in Amu's birthday at the Sirocco Sky Bar. The Bar is on the 64th floor of the Lebua State Tower, with spectacular views of all of Bangkok, and prime seats for stargazing.
Shakeel's an extremely private person, quite unlike the bubbly Amrita. He hates talking about what he's gifting Amu. He's always full of surprises."
