For this new leg in the storyline, the channel has roped in actor Ankit Arora to essay the role of Sushim.

Ashoka's step-brother, Sushim is King Bindusar's favoured candidate to rule over Magadh. It's his shrewd personality and motivation to wear the crown, fuelled by his mother's support that drives Sushim to showcase the grey shades of his character. And, he's willing to go to any length to achieve it – including fight and kill his own kin.
Speaking about his association with the show, Ankit Arora said, "Historical and mythological dramas have a unique appeal which always calls out to me. Since its launch, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat has been a show that everyone talks about and I feel privileged to be a part of it. Sushim's character has a lot of shades – most of which are negative, and I hope that I can do justice to it!"
