And the wave of humanity coming forth to offer help in the wake of the Uttarakhand floods is the perfect example of that.
In a rare show of compassion, former Municipal Councilor and Congressman Barudgar Abdul Aziz (Bablu) made a contribution of Rs 2 lakh for the relief work at Uttarakhand. Presenting the cheque to Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan and the newly-appointed AICC General Secretary and member of CWC Gurudas Kamat at the recently held Mumbai Congress meeting in Mumbai, Bablu said, “Crises like these make you realise that humanity is the biggest virtue and we must stay united for our people.”
This event was also graced by Murli Deora (Permanent Invitee CWC), Sanjay Nirupam (MP and Secretary AICC) and Priya Dutt (MP and Secretary AICC). Convened by Prof J C Chandurkar, President, Mumbai Congress, Mohan Prakashji, Shivajirao Deshmukh and Manikrao Thakare were there too.
