It's about location, location, location. The Big Sandwich Company has chosen to play it safe and open shop chose to Vile Parle's Sathaye College, from where a crowd of hungry teenagers will flock here for a quick bite, the management hopes. The latest snack shack doesn't hold much charm for the non-veg lover, though. And location is to blame, once again. "Vile Parle is a Gujarati dominated suburb, and since we are Jains, this had to be a vegetarian joint," says proprietor Saumil Bhansali.

The decor is minimal with orange stools, doubling up as tables and chairs, strewn around the patio area. A giggly gang of teenagers that usually crowd the hangout are sure to make even 20 year-olds feel like hags, but the hunt for that perfect sandwich made us stick on.

We started off with the Big Grill Margherita Cheese Lover sandwich (Rs 45). It was meant to be a concoction of three types of cheeses sprinkled with oregano. All we tasted was good ol' cheddar, and what seemed like a generous sprinkling of salt. The Aloo Tikka Wrap (Rs 25) was a meal in itself; filling and yummy. Go for it. The Sub Schezwan Sandwich (Rs 20) was tangy-tasty but drenched in oil.

We ended our feast with a dessert sandwich the Chocolate Sandwich (Rs 50). Worth the money, and perfect to up your mood on a rainy day. We washed it all down with a fresh, lip-licking good Cocktail Juice (25).

It's a self-service joint but Saumil and his happy staff were ready to help. We loved the fact that the prices were pocket-friendly. A snack for two won't cost you more than Rs 150.
